North-West College Recognized Hundreds of New Graduates at Spring Commencement Ceremony

PASADENA, Calif.—For more than 550 graduates from North-West College (NWC) and sister colleges Glendale Career College (GCC) and the Marsha Fuerst School of Nursing (MFSON), Sunday, April 28 served as a milestone moment as they gathered for their Commencement Ceremony. Held at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, the event brought together family members, friends, Instructors, Professors and Team Members to celebrate the culmination of months of rigorous studies for these graduates.

Attendees had the privilege of hearing from keynote speaker Blanca E. Rubio, Assemblywoman for the California 48th Assembly District. Having come from humble beginnings, Rubio knows firsthand what it means to overcome challenges. A former teacher, she is also a fierce advocate for education and seeing students succeed in and out of the classroom.

“It was an honor to have Assemblywoman Rubio speak to our graduates,” NWC Vice President Lisa Fuerst explained. “Her background is like many of our own students, and her journey of triumph over adversity is truly inspirational. I was moved as she encouraged our new graduates to believe in their own capacity for success, assuring them that their dreams are within reach, and telling them: if I can do it, you can too!

The spring 2024 graduating class comprised of students from 9 campuses and nearly a dozen different career training programs, including, Dental Assistant,Medical Assistant, Massage Therapist, PharmacyTechnician,Surgical Technologist,Vocational Nurse, Associate of Arts in Nursing (RN), and others. Each program contains a blend of classroom instruction and hands-on learning—a hallmark of the colleges that enables students to cement their skills and hit the ground running in the health care field.

“It was incredible to see our graduates walk across the stage, knowing that every cap and gown represents a life transformed by the power of quality education here at North-West College,” Fuerst shared. “We have every confidence these individuals will go on to make a remarkable impact in their field and in the communities they serve.”
