North-West College Makes It Possible for Vocational Nursing Students from Healthcare Career College to Finish Their Studies Following Program Closure

ANAHEIM, Calif.— Many nursing students from Healthcare Career College (HCC) are breathing easier again after learning they will be able to transfer to North-West College (NWC) to complete their studies. Last month, the Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians (BVNPT) voted to revoke the provisional approval of HCC’s Vocational Nursing Program in Paramount, California.

Upon learning of the board’s vote, North-West College offered assistance to the HCC students with a pathway towards completing their Vocational Nursing program at North-West College’s Anaheim campus. The transfer plan was approved by BVNPT last week, allowing students to resume their classes.

“These individuals were on their way to a rewarding career in nursing,” explained Beylor Meza, NWC’s Chief Operating Officer. “It’s a privilege to be able to come alongside them and help them finish what they started and realize their dreams of entering the Vocational Nursing field.”

The transfer of students from Healthcare Career College to the North-West College Anaheim campus is one example of how North-West College has been able to help hundreds of students over the years following college closures.

The College developed a legacy of assisting students in times of need with it’s founder, Marsha Fuerst, which has continued to this day through the efforts of her successor and current President, Mitchell Fuerst.

North-West College staff and faculty are working tirelessly to give HCC students as seamless a transition as possible. The College is proud to be able to help in these types of situations and has a proven track record of helping troubled institutions.

“We are proud to have continued our legacy of helping students whose educational journeys were cut short,” shared NWC President Mitchell Fuerst. “We are now seen by the regulatory community as the go-to teach-out organization in California. It’s an honor to once again have the chance to stand in the gap for these Healthcare Career College students.”
