Associate of Arts in Nursing Course Activities

Registered Nurses (RNs) provide and coordinate patient care, educate patients and the public about various health conditions, and provide emotional support to patients and their family members.

Registered Nurses typically perform the following:

Assessment and documentation of patient history and personal information
Administration of patient medications and treatments
Developing or contributing to care plans for ongoing patient care
Observation of patients with documentation of changes and collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals
Use and management of medical equipment
Analyzing diagnostic tests
Teaching patient and their families how to manage illnesses or injuries
Discharge instructions for safe, home care after hospitalization
